1. Open up Control Panel, and type in "UAC" into the search box. You'll see a link for "Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off":

3. You'll need to reboot your computer before the changes take effect, but you should be all done with annoying prompts.

4. After you installed UC Companion and restart your Windows Vista, Windows Security Alert button may appear at your lower right hand corner. You can ignore it. But if you click on this button, the following Windows Security Center window will show up. You can turn the User Account Control ON and continue to use UC Companion.
