Ancient Chinese poetry boasts a long history. It flourished in Tang and Song dynasties, during which time many poets were born, such as Li Bai, Du Fu, etc. Ancient Chinese poetry emphasizes measured sentence structure and thus creates excellent structure and rhymes. In Tang poetry, a verse could have either five or seven characters and would contain four or eight verses.
