Badaling lies within Yanqing county, which is in the northwest of Beijing. It’s about 80 kilometers’ away from Beijing. There is an expressway from Beijing to Badaling and it takes only one hour to get there by tourist bus. You can take tourist bus from Qianmen, History Museum, Chongwenmen bus stations in the morning. Badaling is a windy area, and it is high above the sea level. Thus, when visiting Badaling one should think to bring appropriate clothing. Some parts of Great Wall in Badaling are cliffy and slippery, so it's better to wear sneakers, and ladies should not wear high-heeled shoes.
